Terms of service

1. What we provide

MyWebMaster provides MyWebMaster Autopilot, a monthly service that watches a website, makes certain agreed kinds of change to it, and reports on the results. Exactly which changes are allowed on each plan is published at what it changes, and that page forms part of these terms.

2. What we will never change

We will never automatically change your prices, your guarantees, your legal wording, factual claims about your business, or the settings that control whether search engines are allowed to show your site. This applies on every plan and cannot be waived even by agreement, because it protects both of us.

3. Access and control

You give us the access we need to make changes to your website, and permission to view your Google search figures and visitor statistics. Wherever possible that view-only access is exactly that. You can withdraw any of it at any time, and you can stop all automatic activity immediately with a single instruction.

4. Ownership

Everything we produce — the changes, the wording, the settings and the full record of what was done — belongs to you from the moment it is made. We do not license anything back to you, and nothing is kept in a system you lose access to when you leave. Before we make any change we take a complete copy of your website as it stands, and we keep it for as long as you are a client. On leaving you may keep the improved site, or ask us to restore that original copy.

5. Measurement and the guarantee

On the Compound plan we improve one group of pages and deliberately leave a similar group untouched, then compare the two over a fixed 28-day period. If the untouched pages perform better than the improved ones across two of those periods in a row, we refund the fee for the second month. The guarantee covers that comparison only; it is not a promise about your total visitor numbers or revenue.

6. What we cannot promise

Where you appear in search results is decided by companies whose systems we do not control. We do not promise particular positions, visitor numbers or revenue, and anyone who does is promising something they cannot deliver. What we promise is the method, full visibility of what we did, and honest measurement of whether it worked.

7. Cancellation

Watch and Apply can be cancelled at any time, ending at the close of the month you have paid for. Compound runs for a minimum of three months, because comparing improved pages against untouched ones needs a full month to run and a little longer to report on.

8. Liability

Our total liability in connection with this service is limited to the fees you paid in the three months before whatever went wrong. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury or fraud. Because every change is recorded separately and can be undone, our first response to any mistake is simply to put it back.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.
