Who we are
MyWebMaster ("we") operates mywebmaster.co.uk. For the purposes of UK data protection law we are the data controller for personal data collected through this website. You can reach us at hello@mywebmaster.co.uk.
What we collect
- Information you send us. If you request a scan, we collect the name, email address, website address and any message you provide.
- Aggregate usage data. We use Google Analytics to count page views and see which pages people find useful. It is switched to a mode that stores nothing on your device unless you agree, and advertising features are turned off. If you decline, we still receive an anonymous count of the visit and nothing else.
- Server logs. Our host records requests, including IP address and user agent, for security and to identify which crawlers fetch our pages.
Why we use it
We use the details you send to run the scan you asked for and to reply to you. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — responding to an enquiry you initiated.
Analytics cookies are only set if you agree, and our lawful basis for those is your consent. You can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which resets the choice and shows the banner again.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal data, we do not share it with advertising networks, and we do not send marketing email to people who have not asked for it.
How long we keep it
Enquiry correspondence is kept for two years from the last contact, then deleted. Server logs are retained for a shorter period by our hosting provider.
Client data
Where we operate Autopilot on a client's website, we access that client's Google Search Console and analytics data under their instruction. In that arrangement the client is the controller and we are the processor, governed by the contract between us.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask for a copy of the personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to our processing. Email us and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with our response you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
